Admissions Counselor Alabama
The Transfer & Dual Enrollment Admissions Counselor is a key position in supporting both incoming dual enrollment and transfer students. This position will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Dual Enrollment program to ensure dual enrollment students successfully enroll at UAH. They will also provide support to incoming transfer students through early reviews of transferable credit to help these students prepare for their transition to UAH. Reporting to the Associate Director of Recruitment, this position will also collaborate significantly with the Assistant Director of Transfer Recruitment.
Research Engineer I, S1 Alabama
The STEM Education Program Director will lead the development and operation of a new STEM education program. This person will perform research and coordinate internally and externally to conduct the program each academic semester and work closely with IDEAS laboratory and RI management on the program.
Transfer Admissions Counselor Alabama
The Transfer Admissions Counselor reports to the Assistant Director of Transfer Recruitment and supports transfer recruitment initiatives. This position serves as the primary recruitment counselor for incoming transfer students from both 2-year and 4-year institutions. They will also plan and attend recruitment events and promote the university’s brand in their area. Remote Sensing Scientist Alabama
The Remote Sensing Scientist will manage and conduct studies on water and energy cycles as represented by state-of-the-science data assimilation, numerical weather prediction systems, and reanalysis operating over various spatial and temporal scales. They are responsible for validating, verifying, and seeking improvements in the representation of these processes. They are responsible for using satellite remote sensing data sets and specialized experience to validate and identify means of improving these modeling systems. They are responsible for developing new analyses that enhance the societal benefit and economic impact of research to operations and applications of these systems. The incumbent is required to produce written reports, conference presentations, proposal submissions, and peer-reviewed journal articles.
Space Weather & Satellite R2O Scientist Alabama
We are seeking a Space Weather & Satellite R2O Scientist in the area of space weather and satellite remote sensing with research-to-operations (R2O) expertise to support NASA, NOAA, and Department of War programs. Direct experience leading space weather and satellite research-to-operations and involvement in research-to-operations testbeds (e.g., NASA SPoRT, NOAA HWT, SWPT, SPG, AWT, etc.) are critical for this position. Knowledge of satellite retrievals, algorithms, and the assimilation of remote sensing products in models and products is required. The candidate should have a broad knowledge of atmospheric and radiative transfer processes as well as atmospheric and satellite-based datasets for integration into merged products and machine learning applications. They will be expected to serve as a liaison between NASA missions/science teams and research-to-operations testbeds to facilitate integration of new algorithms and products for O2R/A2R testing and feedback. The candidate will lead the development and/or evaluation of satellite-based products, provide statistical evaluation of machine learning model output, and engage with the broader scientific and operational community to assess their use within the space weather, weather/climate, and energy communities. In addition, they will be expected to engage with missions and science teams to facilitate O2R/A2R feedback for development of capabilities within SPoRT and through external collaborators. The position will be located at the National Space Science & Technology Center in Huntsville, Alabama, and will support the scientific development and application of machine learning and satellite remote sensing products. SPoRT is a NASA project to transition unique observations and research capabilities to the operational weather community to improve short-term forecasts on a regional scale. Based at the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, SPoRT is collaborating with the University of Alabama in Huntsville to provide direct science support along with science and technical coordination in the areas of weather, climate, air quality, natural disasters, satellite remote sensing, and data science and applications.

Wraparound Classroom Assistant and Daytime Floater Alabama

The selected candidate will be working within the RISE School, which strives to provide a curriculum that fosters self-confidence, self-esteem, independence, and curiosity within an inclusive environment that brings together traditional learners and learners with exceptional needs. The Wraparound Classroom Assistant and Daytime Floater will function in two primary roles: 1) as a substitute teacher/caregiver during the UAH Early Learning Center's primary daytime program (8:00 am - 2:30 pm) when full-time teaching staff are absent, or providing extra assistance in classrooms when full-time staff are present, and 2) as the lead caregiver in a wraparound program classroom (7:00 - 8:00 am and/or 2:30 - 5:30 pm). Position duties may involve feeding children, diapering, and/or assisting with potty training, administering basic first-aid for injuries, and interacting with and ensuring the safety and well-being of all children, including those with special needs.

The Custodian is a key member of the UAH Facilities & Operations department, which is responsible for the planning, design, construction, renovation, maintenance, and repair of the University. As a Custodian, the employee's primary responsibility is to maintain the cleanliness of the University's buildings. The employee’s duties will be performed full-time either within the first shift hours (5:00 AM - 1:45 PM) or the second shift hours (2:00 PM - 10:45 PM), depending on current staffing needs within the unit.
