Purpose of the Position:

The Academic Affairs IT Business Analyst will provide both functional and technical expertise to enable users to successfully use the university's ERP system, Banner Student, as well as other supporting technologies and platforms. The position functionally and primarily reports within the division of Academic Affairs. The position also reports secondarily to the Director of Enterprise Applications within the Office of Information Technology, ensuring effective communication, coordination with UAH's overall technology plan, and providing the AA IT Business Analyst with access to a deeper pool of technical expertise and resources. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs, design and implement solutions, and ensure optimal use of systems and technology to meet the operational goals of both the university and Academic Affairs.

Duties/Responsibilities
System Support and Maintenance.
• Provide ongoing support for various applications within Academic Affairs, including, but not limited to: Banner Student, DegreeWorks, Interfolio/RPT, Kuali Build, Kuali Academic Ops, EAB Navigate 360, Coursedog, and PageUp.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to system functionality, performance, and data integrity.
• Collaborate, communicate, and escalate as necessary with the Enterprise Applications team in the Office of Information Technology (OIT).
• Ensure system configurations are aligned with business requirements.

Functional Expertise.
• Manage users, roles, and groups within assigned platforms.
• Conduct regular training sessions for end-users to enhance system utilization.

Technical Expertise.
• Assist in the design, development, and implementation of system enhancements and new functionalities.
• Collaborate with IT teams to integrate Banner Student with other systems and technologies.
• Ensure technology decisions within Academic Affairs, such as system configurations and technology selection, are in alignment with the practices, guidelines, and requirements of UAH's IT strategy.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, including technical specifications and user guides.

Project Management.
• Lead and participate in projects to implement new systems, modules, or upgrades.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
• Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion of milestones.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 5 or more years of relevant experience.
• Ability to adapt quickly to new software and platforms, while understanding the standard software lifecycle.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities.
• Ability to build strong relationships with various constituent groups and carefully listen to and understand users' needs.
• Ability to prioritize user needs and translate them into actionable IT requirements.
• Demonstrated initiative to research new information as relevant to student systems.

Desired Qualifications:

• Extensive knowledge of Banner Student and/or other student information systems.
• Experience with data analysis and reporting tools.
• Experience in technical customer support.
• Experience developing training resources and leading training sessions for user groups at various levels and varying technological abilities.

Published Salary (if available):

$70,000 - $90,000
