Research Scientist II, Step 1-4 Alabama
The EarthRISE Project Office, within the Lab for Applied Science (LAS) under the Earth System Science Center (ESSC), is seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist to support the execution of cross-cutting water and energy cycle science. Operating within Earth Action, the EarthRISE project office focuses on developing last-mile solutions, improving coordinated action across NASA Earth Science, and fostering workforce development. This position is two-fold: the candidate will execute foundational research analyzing Earth’s energy and water cycles while also providing essential technical support to multiple initiatives across the NASA Earth System Science Research Program (ESSRP) and Earth Action. A successful candidate will help execute work that bridges rigorous Earth science with high-profile applications, supporting multi-mission and integrated modeling activities across NASA. This includes providing scientific context and data analysis support for efforts aligned with the Multisource Integrated Observatory (MIO), the Integrated Modeling Virtual Institute (IMVI), and the NASA Energy and Water Cycle Study (NEWS). To effectively support integrated Earth System Modeling, the candidate must be highly conversant in data assimilation approaches and Earth system modeling techniques. We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong focus on terrestrial water budget remote sensing and modeling, though a broad ability to converse around all domains of the energy and water cycle, including remote sensing, atmospheric, land, and ocean modeling, is the primary requirement. EarthRISE is a project of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) that works in collaboration with state, local, tribal, territorial, and private sector partners to use information provided by Earth observing satellites and geospatial technologies for managing environmental challenges EarthRISE’s goal is to empower decision-makers with tools, products, geospatial artificial intelligence, and services to act locally on issues such as disasters, agriculture, water, ecosystems, air quality, and health. Custodian Alabama
The Custodian is a key member of the UAH Facilities & Operations department, which is responsible for the planning, design, construction, renovation, maintenance, and repair of the University. As a Custodian, the employee's primary responsibility is to maintain the cleanliness of the University's buildings. The employee’s duties will be performed full-time either within the first shift hours (5:00 AM - 1:45 PM) or the second shift hours (2:00 PM - 10:45 PM), depending on current staffing needs within the unit.

Financial Aid Counselor Alabama
The Financial Aid Counselor has primary responsibility for strategic support of recruitment and retention efforts related to enrollment and revenue goals of the university. S/he works directly with students, parents, guardians, and community-based organizations that are involved in the processes of helping students choose to enroll and persist at the university. The Financial Aid Counselor is responsible for: the effective and compliant management of one or more significant financial aid programs, including understanding federal, state, and institutional regulations and policies associated with each respective program; supporting and deploying policy and procedure development that ensures effective and compliant delivery of funds; articulating those policies and procedures to both internal and external constituents; meeting reporting requirements of the university and governing bodies that are associated with each program. This role is also responsible for understanding and utilizing technical systems to support their work with students and the management of each program for which they are responsible, including but not limited to Banner, Argos, Xtender, and program-specific reporting applications. S/he works as a member of the Financial Aid team to determine annual financial aid awarding processes and procedures and to create proactive outreach initiatives regarding financial file completion, financial literacy, and financial planning to a variety of internal and external constituents. S/he creates and supports program-specific communication strategies. This person directly influences enrollment yield objectives and revenue at the university and has significant fiscal responsibility given the program(s) managed.

The successful candidate will work on process-based hydrologic and land surface modeling frameworks to improve understanding and prediction of water availability across Alabama and the broader southeastern United States. This position requires strong foundational hydrology knowledge and hands-on experience with modeling and geospatial data analysis.

The Construction Project Manager II is a key member of the UAH Facilities & Operations (F&O) department. F&O is responsible for the planning, design, construction, renovation, maintenance, and repair of each of the University’s 90+ buildings and 500 acres. Under the general supervision of the Director of Planning, Design & Construction (Director), the employee manages various capital planning, construction, and renovation projects of a moderate to complex nature to ensure alignment with University and departmental goals. This role focuses on facilitating projects from concept through implementation in collaboration with the Chief Facilities Officer (CFO), the Director, and project stakeholders. Key responsibilities include: • Project Management: Manage projects from original concept through final implementation, coordinating scope, schedules, and budgets for moderate to complex construction and renovation work. • Compliance: Ensure projects meet all contract requirements, UAH standards, and applicable building and safety codes. • Coordination: Manage and coordinate the performance of design professionals, consultants, and vendors. • Reporting: Track project progress, budget status, and schedules, providing reports and updates to leadership and stakeholders.
