Purpose of the Position:

The Assistant Coach, Track & Field is responsible for assisting the Head Coach with the management, administration, teaching, and instruction of all activities related to the UAH Track & Field program and exercises including the direct supervision of teaching, instruction, recruiting, training, and coaching student-athletes participating in the sport.

Duties/Responsibilities
• Enables the achievement of a quality, competitive track program and supports the educational goals of individual student-athletes.
• Assists the Head Track and Field Coach with the management and administration of all activities related to UAH Track and Field.
• Protects the integrity of the sport coached and the reputation of UAH by ensuring that recruiting activities, student-athlete eligibility determination, scholarships and financial aid programs, scheduled practice sessions, and related activities governed by the
National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) are in compliance with NCAA rules and regulations as well as applicable conference rules and University policies.
• Promotes a positive image of the intercollegiate athletics program. Participates in community and professional organizations. 

• Represents the University at professional meetings and on community committees. Establishes and maintains credible relations with local news media. Participates as a member of the University community.
• Contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of diverse backgrounds.
• Maintains competency and professional relevance through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, and attending professional development courses..
• Contributes to the overall success of the University's intercollegiate athletics program by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned, including representing the Head Track and Cross Country Coach in meetings and events.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• 1 year of full-time verifiable coaching experience
• Must have knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
• Demonstrated knowledge of basic principles of coaching and team supervision
• Ability to effectively coordinate recruiting activities, maintain team discipline, and instill proper ethical and moral standards

Desired Qualifications:

• Master's degree is preferred
• Previous college coaching experience is desired

Published Salary (if available):

$32,000 - $35,000
