Purpose of the Position:

The Assistant Director of Operations, Early Learning Center (ELC) will work closely with and serve as the operational lead for the Rise and state-funded Pre-K classrooms, providing training and coaching on matters of licensing, orientation, and daily operations in accordance with ELC and university policies, procedures and guidelines, Alabama state licensing requirements, and NAEYC accreditation standards. This individual will collaborate with the Assistant Director of Curriculum, Resource Manager and Executive Director on a consistent basis and will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the center. The Assistant Director of operations provides operational support to the Early Learning Center (ELC) and demonstrates leadership by creating and maintaining a positive environment for children, families, college students, and ELC staff.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Family Studies, Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, or a closely related field
• Five or more years of experience working in a licensed childcare center
• 3 years of full-time verifiable administrative work experience
• Strong knowledge of DHR Licensing Regulations
• Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills

Desired Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Business, Family Studies, Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, or a closely related field
• Experience in an early childhood leadership position
• Knowledge of NAEYC and ELC standards
• CPR/First Aid Certification

Published Salary (if available):

$55,000 - 60,000
