Purpose of the Position:

The Tutor Coordinator is responsible, alongside the fellow Tutor Coordinator, for supporting the coordination and administration of the Student Success Center Tutoring Programs, which include content tutoring, writing tutoring, drop-in tutoring, and academic coaching. This position will focus primarily on coordinating writing tutoring, academic coaching, and initiatives. The position will also assist with hiring, training, recruiting, assessing, and supervising tutors and academic coaches for all Tutoring Programs. Other responsibilities of the Tutor Coordinator will be managing daily operations and ensuring accurate data collection and assessment of the Tutoring Programs.

Duties/Responsibilities
•Collaborate with the fellow Tutor Coordinator to coordinate the Tutoring Programs including content tutoring, writing tutoring, drop-in tutoring, and academic coaching for the Student Success Center.
•Focus on the administration of academic coaching, writing tutoring, and other initiatives.
•Maintain daily office functions including, but not limited to, checking email, reviewing session notes, and updating tracking spreadsheets.
•Possess a working knowledge of all software platforms utilized by the Student Success Center.
•Support the creation and management of the tutors’ and coaches' schedules for appointment-based and drop-in programs.
•Assist with recruitment and hiring for all new tutors including collaborating with academic departments to ensure qualified tutors are selected.
•Develop and lead training for tutors and coaches to encourage the use of best practices to support students in building skills and strategies as well as understanding course content.
•Observe tutors to provide constructive feedback.
•Track certification data for CRLA (College Reading and Learning Association) Master Level certification for approximately 40 tutors.
•Create and maintain program spreadsheets throughout each semester.
•Compile and provide data for reports on Tutoring Programs to support departmental and external reporting submitted to the Director.
•Generate salary reports based on bi-weekly time card approval.
•Review tutors’ and coaches' training and reflection submissions in Canvas.
•Organize and support the coordination of the end of semester finals preparation event.
•Support and develop Student Success Center workshops and events.

Minimum Requirements:

•Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and years of experience
•1-5 years of full-time verifiable professional work experience
•Must be proficient with Google Drive
•Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite
•Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills

Desired Qualifications:

•Master’s degree is preferred
•Prior experience in higher education is preferred
•Experience using TracCloud and Banner is desired
•Knowledge of UAH policies and procedures is desired

Published Salary (if available):

$43,000 - $45,650
