This position will provide additional operational support for the NASA CSDA DM Operations & Informatics Team(Ops), focusing mainly on off-hours (weekends, holidays, and other than 9 am-5 pm M-F) CSDA rapid and low-latency tasking requests. The selected on-call Research Associate candidate will support the Office of Data Science and Informatics (ODSI) within the Lab for Applied Science (LAS) under the Earth System Science Center (ESSC) at UAH. The NASA Commercial Satellite Data Acquisition program acquires, evaluates, catalogs, and archives commercial satellite data assets to be discoverable alongside NASA mission data. The Data Management (DM) Team is responsible for acquiring, managing, and distributing data procured through the program. This position will provide additional operational support for the NASA CSDA DM Operations & Informatics Team(Ops), focusing mainly on off-hours (weekends, holidays, and other than 9 am-5 pm M-F) CSDA rapid and low-latency tasking requests. When not responding to urgent requests, this position will provide basic Ops support as well. The position will be flexible with a minimum of 10 hours/week and not exceeding 20 hours/week. ODSI evaluates trends across data science and informatics communities to inform strategic direction and develop effective, scalable solutions. The office also provides a user-centered perspective on how Earth science data are represented, communicated, and utilized. The position contributes to cross-disciplinary collaboration aimed at improving all phases of the Earth science data lifecycle, including policy, engineering, workflows, and information delivery.
Computer Scientist IV, Step 4	Alabama
The Computer Scientist will provide geospatial and information technology assistance and specialization for the Inter-Agency Implementation and Advanced Concepts Team (IMPACT) in the Earth Systems Science Center. The candidate will be expected to work on data science issues in research and operational frameworks. The selected candidate will support the Office of Data Science and Informatics (ODSI) within the Lab for Applied Science (LAS) under the Earth System Science Center (ESSC) at UAH. Upon hire, the incumbent will maintain day-to-day operations while key staff dedicate significant time to the ERP implementation.
Research Scientist II, S 1-4	Alabama
The Research Scientist II will serve as task lead over various processes and be responsible for data analysis, extracting, validating, and cataloguing vital metadata from complex, large-scale Earth Science NASA scientific data collections. Key responsibilities include • Serve as the Task Lead for cloud data ingestion activities by planning, coordinating, and overseeing the integration, validation, optimization, and continuous improvement of data pipelines from multiple sources, ensuring data quality, system performance, and compliance with organizational standards while supporting analytics, reporting, and operational requirements. • Serve as team lead and manage data quality control and troubleshooting efforts by overseeing routine quality assurance reviews of metadata records, identifying and resolving data discrepancies, collaborating with data producers to implement corrective actions, and ensuring data integrity, consistency, and adherence to established standards. • Manage and oversee the data publication and documentation process by coordinating the ingestion, validation, publication, and maintenance of metadata records, ensuring accurate documentation, data integrity, compliance with organizational standards, and the timely availability of information for stakeholders. • Lead and oversee the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of scripts and software solutions that automate business and operational processes, ensuring reliability, scalability, system performance, and adherence to organizational standards
