Purpose of the Position:

The Resource Manager will directly assists Co-Directors for Lab for Applied Science (LAS), Senior Resource Manager for the Lab for Applied Science, and Research Staff with budgeting and financial responsibilities on contracts and grants to ensure adherence to sponsored programs requirements and guidelines.

Duties / Responsibilities
- Assist Lab for Applied Science (LAS) Co-Directors and staff as needed with all contract and grant concerns both pre and post-award. Oversee and recommend training for research staff on best practices associated with proposal budget development and award expenditures. Prepare budgetary documents required for award set up, operation and close-out.
- Assist in non CA (Cooperative Agreement) proposal submissions for LAS staff, including but not limited to preparing budget, collecting needed documents, and facilitate submission with Office of Sponsored Programs.
- Manage the PI revenue account reconciliation. Review expenses for compliance and provide monthly update to Principal Investigators.
- Manage non CA (Cooperative Agreement) subcontract awards.
- Provide support to Program & Proposal Coordinator and serve as backup when needed.
- Provide expertise in processing and forecasting budgets as needed for new positions and new funding.
- Assist the Senior Resource Manager with the maintenance and development of LAS's research budgets to include updating all databases associated with the financial research status of the lab on a daily basis.
- Manage a broad financial strategic programmatic direction and initiative through effective resource management and programmatic planning.
- Incumbent will represent LAS at meetings as needed, when appropriate, or during the absence of the Co-Directors or Senior Resource Manager.
- Assist Senior Resource Manager to provide PIs of LAS with monthly budget and labor reports.
- Create financial reports for LAS Co-Directors for F&A earnings and PI performance and projections for center growth.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of full-time verifiable work experience in an administrative or finance position.
• Experience with budget and accounting processes/procedures and advanced experience with spreadsheets.
• Knowledge of contracts and grants.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field of study.
• Working knowledge of Banner and Kuali.
• Office management experience in an academic/ research environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of state appropriations and research/contract and grant funding within a university setting.

Published Salary (if available):

$52,343 - $56,000
