Purpose of the Position:

The Research Engineer provides support for UAS general development, including digital defense techniques and security.

Duties/Responsibilities
• Serve as an Engineer for UAS general development, including digital defense techniques and security
• Develop and maintain integration of UAS AI/ML software and supporting hardware
• Maintain the configuration of integration software and hardware
• Support hands-on testing updates for UAS operations and software functions
• Support program and technical interchange meetings

Minimum Requirements:

• Master's degree - preferably in science, engineering, or business; (Bachelor's and 2 years of full-time directly related experience in a specialized area may be substituted ) and 15 - 18 months (1.25 - 1.5 years) of full-time work experience.
• Computer Programming Languages for Aviation and Aerospace programs
• C++, Python, Java
• Ability to develop and integrate AI/ML software into supporting hardware for the
Accomplishment of Aviation and Aerospace requirements
• Experience working within an Academic Environment at UAH
• US Citizenship Required
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience or Masters Degree in a computer engineering, scientific, or aviation management field
• Strong interest in computational geometry
• Ability to think logically in the algorithmic development for computational statistical analysis

Published Salary (if available):

$72,766 - $78,380
