The Research Engineer will provide objectives through the development, management, and maintenance of technical work products and documentation, while ensuring high-quality delivery and effective communication with internal and external customers. The role applies engineering and administrative support including 3D model updates, drawing verification, and related technical tasks. It also contributes to continuous improvement by researching and implementing new tools and methods to enhance customer processes, while mentoring and onboarding new team members to ensure consistency, efficiency, and adherence to established standards.

Duties/Responsibilities

Create, develop, manage, and maintain work products and technical documentation, and present/defend deliverables to internal and external customers
Research, evaluate, and implement new tools and techniques in customer processes
Perform Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes in support of program and project objectives
Perform research, engineering, and general administration support to project leads in the form of 3D model modifications, drawing checks, and similar project tasks
Mentor and onboard new hires on required processes and task execution to ensure consistent performance and quality

Bachelor's of Science degree in engineering, computer science, or information systems, with 0-3 years directly related full-time, verifiable work experience.
Experience working with a UAH Research Center.
U.S. Citizenship is required.

Engineering and/or English coursework is preferred
