Purpose of the Position:

The Research Engineer provides support for UAS general development and
integration of UAS hardware and software.

Duties/Responsibilities
• Serve as an Engineer for UAS general development and integration of
aviation components
• Develop and Maintain integration of UAS software and hardware
• Maintain the configuration of integration software and hardware
• Support hands on testing of UAS operations and software functions
• Support program and technical interchange meetings

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or information systems,
with 12-24 years directly related full-time work experience.
• Computer Programming Languages for Aviation and Aerospace programs
• JavaScript, C++, Python, Golang
• Web Technologies proficiency: HTML, CSS
• Ability to develop and integrate software and systems in the
accomplishment of Aviation and Aerospace requirements
• Experience in UAS development and integration
• US Citizenship Required
• Ability to maintain a security clearance

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience in a computer engineering,
scientific, or aviation management field
• Working within a Research Environment at UAH
• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certified

Published Salary (if available):

$63,075 - $68,150
