The Postdoctoral Research Assistant III hired to this position will interact regularly with internal and external collaborators. Frequent interaction with graduate and undergraduate students in related UAH departments for research coordination, data sharing, and collaborative analysis.Duties / Responsibilities:• Conduct independent and collaborative research analyzing spacecraft data and numerical simulations to study solar wind turbulence and energetic particle transport.• Develop, test, and apply data analysis tools and numerical models to interpret observations and theoretical predictions.• Prepare and submit manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications, present results at conferences, and contribute to project reports.• Collaborate with other researchers, postdocs, and graduate students on joint projects, including mentoring and knowledge sharing.• Participate in research group meetings, seminars, workshops, and occasional outreach activities. Minimum Requirements: • Ph.D.in Space Science, Plasma Physics, or a similar field of study with 2 - 2.5 years of verifiable, full-time work experience.• Demonstrated research experience during graduate studies in areas relevant to energetic particle transport.• Ability to solve relevant turbulent transport equations numerically.• Proficiency in scientific programming and data analysis (e.g., Python, MATLAB, IDL).• Knowledge of particle transport, scattering, and turbulence in a space physics context. Desired Qualifications: • Advanced expertise with specialized analysis tools (e.g., machine learning). Experience with general computational and analytical methods used in turbulence and particle fields.• Experience contributing to collaborative research teams or multi-institution projects.
