Purpose of the Position: |
The Principal Research Engineer will provide leadership, perform research, manage, and support the design, development, testing and analyses of RF technology development, conducting research in advanced antennas, electronics and signal processing algorithms for seekers/sensors and ground-based radar applications. Lab experimentation in system design, antenna measurement, hardware in the loop and guiding lab personnel, researchers, faculty, technicians and graduate and undergraduate students in research and testing of systems.
Duties/Responsibilities • Provide leadership, perform research, manage, and support the design, development and testing of advanced radars, sensors and non-kinetic systems testing to include microwave and electromagnetics to further the research in this area by collecting pertinent data and related physical phenomena associated with operations and effects. • Support lab operations and experimentation, to include design, setup, instrumentation and data collection, results of testing and post-test data analysis working within the directed energy team. • Prepare documentation and delivering test results and presentations within the community. • Serve as a subject matter expert to the University and the community in RF technology development, contributing to the education of students and offering lectures to expand workforce development. • Serve as a lead, work closely with, and collaborate with scientists, engineers and program managers to support development and execution of complex scientific programs and research projects. • Perform strategic planning and developing a vision for the University in system development and integration.
