Purpose of the Position:

The Lab for Applied Science at the Earth System Science Center is seeking a post-doctoral candidates to work on joint NASA/UAH projects. This position is for 2 years.

The Postdoctoral Research Assistant will provide geospatial and information technology assistance and specialization within the Earth Systems Science Center. The candidate will work across multiple projects related to data science, machine learning, satellite remote sensing and numerical modeling applications.

Duties/Responsibilities
• Perform Comprehensive research, develop, manage and implement software across multiple projects.
• Manage communications and communicate in written and oral format with UAH and NASA IMPACT team members.
• Present at major conferences.
• Write peer-reviewed publications.
• Create, develop, prepare and generate assigned reports.

Minimum Requirements:

• PhD in Remote Sensing, Atmospheric Science, Engineering or a related filed
• Minimum of 3.5 years of full-time verifiable work experience
• Working knowledge of satellite data sets and retrieval techniques for earth-atmosphere applications
• Strong record of peer reviewed publications
• Excellent communication skills with ability to work in a team environment
• Strong image processing and programming skills

Desired Qualifications:

• Proposal writing experience is preferred

Published Salary (if available):

$62,000-$70,000
