This person will be responsible for ensuring the financial program data integrity and reporting accuracy. Accuracy is a must when maintaining the status of the budgets. The person will be responsible for the database management for Contracts and Grants accounts including Cooperative Agreements. This person with play an integral part in the budget and planning process for the Propulsion Research Center.Duties/ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management Support • Manage of a portion of the PRC portfolio of research awards, grants and foundation accounts.• Review expenses for compliance and provide monthly update to Principal Investigator and Project Manager. • Assist in the technical writing and proposal development and submission for PRC staff by; preparing budget according to UAH and agency guidelines, preparing and collecting other documents for proposal submission as needed; reviewing submission package for compliance; and facilitate communication with Faculty, Research Staff and Office of Sponsored Programs for submission of proposal. Maintain database for PRC submitted proposal and status of submitted proposals.• Assist in financial planning for PRC programs. Verify and review contractual agreements and process payments. • Co-Manage PRC subcontracts requesting subcontract amendments, requisitions for encumbering funding and tracking subcontract spending. • Assist PRC team with verifying financial support for special events and attend events as requested. • Prepare contract for professional services and process subcontracts for PRC collaborations partners and process payments for agreements as required by terms of contract.Administrative Support• Track GRA stipend and tuition payments each semester before accounting feed is processed. • Assist in facilitation of the management of PRC financial database files at all times, and provide expertise in processing/forecasting of budget concerns as needed for new positions, PAFs, PARFs and raises. • Manage/support maintenance and development of the Center Budget, will include updating all databases associated with financial status of the center, updated monthly. • Assist in preparation of reports and presentations requested by University Administration • Co-Manage labor distribution for the processing of payroll bi-weekly for research staff. Process and approve payroll each BW for research staff (full time and hourly) making sure submitted correctly and on time. If necessary, make changes as requested to labor distribution. Center Reporting and Meeting Support• Prepare reports and presentations requested by University Administration; ensuring financial program data integrity and reporting accuracy; establishing and maintaining appropriate internal controls; and reengineering financial execution and budgetary processes utilizing internal/external financial operational best practices and procedures. • Foster and maintain working relationships with PRC associates, staff and other University Center/Academic departments; provide broad financial strategic programmatic direction and initiatives through effective resource management and the provision of effective and timely staff support. • Represent the center at meetings as needed when Director, Assistant Director, Associate Director, Lab Director or PRC Research Program Administrator are not available. Minimum Requirements: • Bachelor's degree, 5 -7 years of progressive responsible work experience (of which should include administrative, finance, budget and contract experience) and or a combination of education and years of experience.• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite and Adobe.• Experience with budget development for large multi-scale projects.• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.• Ability to work and think independently.• US Citizenship is required Desired Qualifications: • Master’s degree is preferred• Certification in Contracts and Grants is preferred• Working knowledge of Banner and Kuali the new proposal development system is desired.• Familiar with scientific-technical terminology and Propulsion Research is desired.
