Applicant Login Career Coordinator II Apply now Job no: 502218 Department: Dean of Students Work type: Staff Full-time Exempt Location: Alabama Categories: Student Affairs Purpose of the Position: Career Coordinator II assists in the logistical and operational aspects of the career development program to include campus-based outreach activities and career coaching with students and alumni. The coordinator also assists in the identification of both experiential learning opportunities and permanent degreed positions for students and alumni.Duties/Responsibilities• Provide career counseling and advising for students and alumni on a wide range of career development topics including choice of concentration, skills - competency assessment, internships, experiential learning opportunities, post-graduation employment and graduate/professional school planning in both individual and group sessions.• Provide programmatic support for a variety of programs, including career strategy programming, experiential learning initiatives, personal-social development, and expanding programs to support minorities, women, international students, persons with disabilities, covered veterans, and other student target populations. • Respond to complex questions, regarding the Cooperative Education and Employee Services programs, evaluating student’s cooperative needs, site development, and accurate and timely completion of training agreements and learning objectives. • Assist with the development and implementation of special student programs as needs emerge, and develop resources to support student learning in all experiential programming.• Plan programs and liaise with graduate school partners to plan on-campus information sessions in programmatic areas of focus to be determined, assist in the development of programs that connect students with alumni for career exploration through mentorship.• Collaborate with advising colleagues to plan and facilitate career panels and recruiting/networking event.• Advise students on how to develop and maintain a professional online presence, including how to create online profiles (LinkedIn and others) and online portfolios.• Leads, guides and supervise the work of student employees, as appropriate, and participate in training and evaluative sessions, and efforts to engage and steward alumni volunteers. • Support Career Advising and Exploration team-wide events including departmental programs and large group career exploration workshops.• Serve as liaison and maintain effective relationships with faculty, academic advisers, and administrators relevant to programmatic areas of focus to be determined.• Assist in the coordination and implementation of initiatives with staff in building relationships with students and promote cultural diversity, equity and inclusion.• Utilize Charger path career management system and assist in the development of the quarterly and yearly assessment and evaluation of each assigned program, initiative and maintain confidential student and statistical information• Review and assign work to Career Ambassadors in the areas of career services and development events, on-campus and off-campus events/workshops, outreach and retention programs and recruitment activities in conjunction with campus stakeholders, serve as a member of planning committees and participate in staff meetings as necessary.• Provide assistance in data collection and analysis of employment data and reporting on experiential learning programs.• Assist in the creation of content for the website, social media etc.• Must be able to stay current on changes in industry and market trends• Some travel may be required for professional development and for meetings with various stakeholders Minimum Requirements: • Bachelor's degree, 1-3 years or more of full-time verifiable professional work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and years of relevant experience• Must have excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills• Must have proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite• The ability to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends is required• Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality, and represent the University in a professional manner• Proven working knowledge of Handshake CRM is required Desired Qualifications: • Prior knowledge of Banner Student Information System is desired• Prior work experience in a higher education setting ideally in Career Counseling, Career • • Coaching, Career Advising, or Career Services Program Development Published Salary (if available): 45,000-48,000 Advertised: Mar 17 2025 Central Daylight Time Applications close: Back to search results Apply now Refer a friend Whatsapp Facebook LinkedIn Email App Send me jobs like these We will email you new jobs that match this search.
