Purpose of the Position:

The position serves as Staff Assistant to the Center for Cyber Security and Research Education and is responsible for purchasing and event-related duties, customer service delivery as well as secretarial and administrative tasks.

Duties include:

Purchasing/Event Support:
- Supports the CCRE team with the receipt and processing of staff purchasing requests, p-card purchases, requisitions and cost transfers; ensures purchase delivery; tracks and reconciles requisitions and pcard purchases in purchasing log
- Assist with programmatic support regarding University camp program, events, and activities, and other related programs,
- Manage the coordination and organization of the logistical process of the camps; securing space, purchasing food, managing invitations, managing registrations, coordinating with guests and partners, and event set up.
- Provide marketing support for the department outreach initiatives and activities, and coordinate with campus partners.

Office Support:
- Assists with general office management functions and coordination, e.g. maintenance of office supplies, coordination of work orders, printing requests as well as Marketing & Communications requests
- Assists with travel authorizations. Prepares and processes expense reimbursements.

Administrative/Secretarial Support:
- Provides administrative moderately complex support to the Associate Director of the Center for Cybersecurity Research and Education.
- Performs office tasks, such as typing correspondence to include proof-read and edit documents, schedules, maintaining processes and procedures for documents, forms and reports, establishing filing system, preparing spreadsheets, emailing, telephoning, photocopying, picking up mail. Maintain confidentiality and good record keeping practices.
- Assist in the coordination, set up for internal and external meetings, trainings and other events and special departmental projects, as assigned
- Greet students, faculty, staff, visitors and campus partners; providing a high level of customer service, maintain a productive and quality of work environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school education or equivalent combination of education and years of experience.
• 3-5 years of full-time verifiable secretarial or administrative work experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Pro
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Must be detail-oriented, accurate, dependable, organized, self-starter, and able to work under pressure.
• Excellent customer service and problem resolution skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize work, and manage multiple work assignments.
• Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.
• Ability to solve problems and make decisions within a complex environment.
• Ability to work in a team.

Desired Qualifications:

• Associate's degree or some college is preferred.
• Experience in a higher education setting is desired.
• Experience with event organization is desired.
• Experience with purchasing is desired.

Published Salary (if available):

$36,000 - $38,000
