Purpose of the Position:

The Research Scientist II will provide remote sensing assistance and specialization for the Inter-Agency Implementation and Advanced Concepts Team (IMPACT) in the Earth System Science Center. The candidate will be expected to work on data science issues in research and operational frameworks.

Duties / Responsibilities
• The candidate will provide remote sensing support across multiple projects.
• Communicate in written and oral format with UAH and NASA IMPACT team members.
• Present at major conferences.
• Write peer-reviewed publications.
• Write reports as needed.
Minimum Requirements:

• Master's degree in Atmospheric Science, Earth Science, Remote Sensing, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and years of experience
• 1.25-1.5 years of full-time verifiable work experience
• Extensive working knowledge in various satellite data sets
• Proven record of multiple peer reviewed publications
• Experience in programming, including working knowledge of GIS and Remote Sensing software
• Proven record of working in earth and atmospheric science applications.
• Excellent communication skills
Desired Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science, Earth Science, Remote Sensing, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and years of experience is preferred
• Proposal writing experience
Published Salary (if available):

$72,766 - $78,380
