Purpose of the Position:

This position supports the instructional and training needs under Project "Designing Instruction for Academic Literacies," (DIAL), which focuses on preparation of secondary teachers to work with English Learners (ELs) in regional school districts.

Duties/Responsibilities
● Coach training participants following assigned "Designing Instruction for Academic Literacies," (DIAL) protocols.
● Analyze DIAL training recordings, and meet virtually with DIAL participants to coach them on their application of DIAL methodology to fidelity.
● Evaluate and provide recommendations to improve the design of instructional language.
● Facilitate DIAL Training sessions, including real-time coaching in the analysis and revision of lessons, pedagogical choices, and instructional language.
● Maintain and archive logs (zoom and written) of coaching and training sessions where required.
● Create, revise, and edit content for DIAL online modules.
● Ensure that appropriate confidential records and logs/reports are maintained.
● Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of training and make recommendations for improvements or adjustments as needed.
● Attend and participate in online training and professional development, and stay abreast of DIAL methodology, and program updates.
● Maintain activity logs
● Attend logistic meetings
● Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree (any K-12 teaching certifications in a content area (e.g. Math, ELA, Social Studies, Science, Special Education, Reading Specialist, or a related field: ESOL).
• 7 years of full-time related experience

Desired Qualifications:

• Master’s degree is preferred
• Class A Alabama Professional Educator Certificate in a secondary content area and – or ESOL, or equivalent advanced certification from another state
• Experience in educational coaching, and or curriculum design
• Previous experience with DIAL Training

Published Salary (if available):

$36,400 ($35/hr at .5 FTE)
