Purpose of the Position:

The Contracts & Grants Administrator will be responsible for the activities related to the full lifecycle of sponsored programs administration. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to proposal submission, contract negotiation, and post-award administration; related to funding provided in the form of gifts, grants, cooperative agreements, and contracts from external/internal funding sources (e.g., federal agencies, state agencies, private foundations, and industry) that provide support for research, curriculum development, outreach, and community services. The Incumbent may perform other duties as assigned.

Duties/Responsibilities
• Pursue, negotiate, and administer all sponsored activities under their portfolio.
• Assist with identifying external/internal funding opportunities brought to their attention.
• Review and process agreements as they relate to sponsored program activities.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local and university regulations, policies and procedures, and guidelines
• Advise research staff, faculty, and support staff on the interpretation and adherence to sponsor and university regulations, policies and procedures, and guidelines.
• Monitor and assist the PI and Government Property and Close-out Assistant with the submission of progress reports and final reports. Duties are performed at various levels within the defined title.
• Prepare proposals; prepare budges, review proposal package and provide input to PI on proposal compliance before submission. The incumbent oversees the proposal preparation and submission process.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and years of experience
• 3 - 5 years of full-time verifiable work experience (to include 2 years of experience in an office environment)
• Must be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite to include Word and Excel
• Must be familiar with websites such as Google, IE, Chrome
• Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills and have the ability to work effectively with others in a very fast-paced and highly stressful environment
• The ability to read, comprehend, and apply, as well as communicate effectively is required
• Keen attention to detail is required
• Must work well with others in a team environment

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business is preferred
• Office experience in a university setting is desired
• Knowledge of federal contracts and grants regulations and guidelines is preferred
• BANNER experience is desired

Published Salary (if available):

$40,00 - $45,000
