Purpose of the Position:

The Regional Admissions Counselor will report to the Associate Director of Regional Recruitment and oversee recruitment efforts for new students in South Alabama and surrounding areas. This position will build relationships with prospective students, their parents, and school counselors to support undergraduate applicants to UAH from point of inquiry to enrollment. They will also plan and attend recruitment events and promote the university’s brand in their area. In collaboration with the Associate Director of Regional Recruitment, this will support the university’s growing enrollment in their region. This position is based on either Baldwin County, AL or Mobile County, AL.

Duties / Responsibilities
• Manage a recruitment territory of incoming first-year students. Travel to recruitment territories as needed approximately 10-15 weeks throughout the year. Communicate with incoming students, parents, and school counselors through multiple platforms, including a recruitment CRM. Attend high school visits, college fairs, and other off campus recruitment activities on behalf of the university.
• Develop and cultivate relationships with prospective students at all points in the admissions funnel through telephone, email, texting, in-person and writing communication. Answer telephone, email and other inquiries and provide information to students, their families and school counselors. Follow up, track and communicate with prospective students and assist them from prospect through enrollment.
• Develop and implement territory management plans for assigned geographic territory. Assist with the development and implementation of recruitment strategies of students from targeted areas.
• Plan and host recruitment events for prospective students, their parents, and school counselors.
• Represent the Office of Admissions at on-campus recruitment events including preview days, open house events, admitted student events, and new student orientation.
• Utilize the recruitment CRM to manage student data and reports.
• Other duties as assigned by the Associate Director of Recruitment or Director of Undergraduate Admissions.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree
• 1-3 years of experience in higher education, recruitment, marketing, and/or sales.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and public speaking skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel.
• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with the ability to be insured by the university.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
• Must permanently reside in Baldwin County, AL or Mobile County, AL.

Desired Qualifications:

• Prior experience working in undergraduate admissions at a four-year non-profit college or university.

Published Salary (if available):

$45,000 - $48,000
