Purpose of the Position:

The Earth Systems Science Center seeks an on-call Climate Data Specialist to assess climate data records and perform analysis on the data to answer research questions regarding the climate of the U.S. and the world. The candidate will produce documentation to detail the process of data discovery, assessment, and analysis, and will also find data records to support answers on climate.

Duties / Responsibilities:

• Assess the data records for validity and then perform analysis on the data to answer research questions regarding the climate.
• Locate data records to answer research questions regarding the climate of the U.S. and the world. These records will be found in a combination of paper forms (or images thereof) housed in national archives as well as electronic data files available from various agencies.
• Produce documents that detail the entire process of data discovery, assessment, and analysis.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Atmospheric or Earth Science.
• 15-18 months of verifiable, full-time work experience in a related field.

$28.00 an Hour
