The role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.Duties/ResponsibilitiesPerform circulation functions including checkouts, renewals, returns, and employee separationsRegister non-UAH guest users and UAH alumni membersProcess payments for fines, fees, and other chargesProvide assistance in-person, over the phone, and via email, transferring inquiries as appropriateStay informed about library policies, procedures, and campus activity calendarsMaintain library security through turnstile monitoring, sign-in procedures, and coordination with campus policeReview email, Google Drive schedules, and internal communications for daily updatesPlan desk coverage and assign projects for student staffTroubleshoot patron and staff questions related to accounts, equipment, and policiesAssist with setup and management of reserves, guest cards, parking passes, and other patron needsEnsure closing procedures are followed and the building is securedAssist with displays, outreach programs, and other library initiativesSupport upkeep of vending machines, printing/scanning services, and ATM/flex machines.Process and manage donations (gift books)Coordinate with other departments on campus, including notifying facilities of issues in building Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in library services, customer service, or related field. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated commitment to user-focused service. Experience supervising or training staff and/or student employees. Ability to work weekend and evening shifts and manage closing responsibilities. Desired Qualifications: Previous experience working in an academic library or customer service environment. Familiarity with library circulation systems, patron account management, and basic IT troubleshooting. Ability to handle financial transactions and maintain accurate records. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
