Purpose of the Position:

The Principal Research Engineer VII will perform funded research with government (national, state, and local) industry and university organizations. The incumbent will perform computer-related research and tasks to support modeling, networking, and systems engineering.

Duties/Responsibilities
• Serve as Principal Investigator and Subject Matter Expert on research projects
• Create, develop, and submit proposals, as well as management of research projects
• Responsible for management of assigned research budget, planning, and reporting activities
• Identify and review potential opportunities for CCRE
• Develop and write proposals with CCRE team members and external collaborators:
target agencies include but are not limited to: NSF, NSA, ERDC, US Army, MDA, NIH, NICE, DHS, FBI, DOE, DoD Agencies and Commercial contractors
• Perform Machine learning, digital forensics, and vulnerability analysis
• Serve as an subject matter expert, and technical leader related to Machine learning, digital forensics, and vulnerability analysis
• Generate ideas to architect and resolve solutions for problems in these areas
• Travel to attend meetings with customers and potential customers
• Attend local, regional, and national events such as conferences, workshops, symposia, etc

Minimum Requirements:

• Ph.D. 11- 11.5 years of full-time verifiable work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and years of professional experience
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experience in cybersecurity, computing security, information assurance, and curriculum development
• U.S. citizenship is required
• Must be eligible for Secret Clearance

Desired Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Science or Engineering is preferred
• Previous experience in machine learning, digital forensics and vulnerability analysis is preferred

Published Salary (if available):

$221,975 - $235,313
