Purpose of the Position:

The Marketing and Events Manager will develop and implement strategic initiatives in marketing and coordinate events to help the college recruit and engage students, enhance its brand and reputation, and engage internal and external constituents.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Marketing & Communications:
• Develop, maintain, and implement a marketing strategy for the college to enhance its brand image and reputation locally and nationally.
• Develop and manage marketing campaigns across various mediums to build interest in our college.
• Plan outreach efforts to all of our students throughout their lifecycle (interest, application, enrollment, graduation).
• Manage the branding, digital assets, website, social media, email, and print publications for the college.
• Coordinate with the university’s Office of Marketing and Communication as needed to ensure compliance with university branding guidelines.
• Secure stories, write, edit, and assist with designing regular communications for internal and external constituents, particularly the biannual college newsletter.
• Provide training to departmental personnel on newsletter development software and newsletter guidelines as needed.
• Coordinate with university photographer to update digital content annually.

Event Management:
• Plan, coordinate, and execute significant student- and community-facing annual events for the college, such as Honors Convocation and Signature Speaker Series events.
• Coordinate with other university units (such as Event Services, Parking, Facilities, Dining Services, etc) to effectively plan events on campus.
• Assist departments and academic advisors in conceptualizing and planning events geared towards student retention, community-building, and alumni relations.
• Create and design event marketing materials in graphic design programs (Canva, photoshop, etc.) and communicate and promote upcoming events with internal and external stakeholders on behalf of the college through traditional and digital marketing channels.

Student Recruitment :
• Assist departments with development and implementation of communication plans for responding to prospective student inquiries to grow the number that result in applications.
• Develop and create marketing materials that include, but are not limited to printed brochures, promotional materials, website design, mailers, and email campaigns.
• Perform data analyses to help identify and select enrollment growth opportunities, and assist with development of strategies to meet enrollment goals.
• Coordinate with the Office of Admissions biannually to update program materials and communication plans.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and years of experience
• 1-3 years of full-time verifiable work experience in a higher education setting or marketing and communications
• Must have solid computing skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
• Must have excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in: marketing, business, communications, or a related field
• Basic graphic design knowledge using Canva, Photoshop, Microsoft Publisher, or comparable software
• Experience with social media account management and website content management

Published Salary (if available):

$50,000 - $60,000
