The incumbent will advise Honors Students and manage Honors certificate and diploma requirements.Duties/Responsibilities• Ensures students make progress toward Honors diploma or certificate through meetings and developing plans of study. • Knowledge of degree programs in all colleges.• Hire, train and supervise 3-4 peer advisors who provide 150 hours of advising per day.• Develops advising materials and guides, holds group advising sessions at freshmen orientations, Honors Intro to Research courses, and in conjunction with the engineering mentoring courses. • Audit, monitor, and evaluate individual student academic progress. • Comply with FERPA and UAH regulations regarding the privacy of student information. Guide and educate students in choosing a program of study and clarifying educational goals.• Manage, and provide support to enrollment management procedures related to advising, resources, and data management within Honors College including generating all reports and synthesizing information pertaining to enrollment, completion, probation, demographics, etc. • Provides data to UAH OIRA and other UAH units regarding enrollment in Honors.• Performs Honors Graduate audits each semester• Manage new retention efforts, such as probation programming, etc. • Fully knowledgeable and maintain expertise on major degree plans and programs, academic policies and procedures in accordance to assigned area. • Develops advising materials and guides (digital and print), holds group advising sessions at freshmen orientations, Honors Intro to Research courses, and in conjunction with the engineering mentoring courses. • Coordinates advising programs such as peer advising, career placement, internships, or other college programs.• Assist with Honors College Ambassadors, Tutoring program, Honors Mentor Program and Mentor Coordinator.• Assist students with identifying research and extracurricular activities.• Perform other duties as assigned Minimum Requirements: • Bachelor's degree, 2 or more years of full-time verifiable Academic Advising experience preferably in higher education.• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite• Knowledge and experience with admissions and recruitment cycles and processes• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Desired Qualifications: • Demonstrated experience and knowledge using or interpreting Banner systems, degree audits, and student success management platforms is preferred•Knowledge of Google Docs-Google Drive is desired• Previous university experience is preferred.
