Purpose of the Position:

The Research Scientist is a forward-thinking Drone Inventory, Parts, and Logistics Tracking Specialist to revolutionize RSESC’s supply chain for cutting-edge aerial technology. This position will integrate drone-based inventory scanning, real-time shipment tracking, and detailed parts inventory management—ensuring operations run at peak efficiency from inventory locations to final destination.

Duties/Responsibilities
• Perform in-depth research. Track drones for real-time inventory scanning, parts tracking, and logistics • Maintain accurate counts and status of spare parts and components using drone-integrated inventory systems oversight
• Oversee and manage the lifecycle process of parts inventory: ordering, receiving, stocking, and reconciliation
• Manage and coordinate with operations teams to ensure timely availability and allocation of critical parts
• Analyze flight needs to optimize inventory layout and retrieval speeds
• Support and coordinate the scheduling and execution of drone flights
• Create, develop and prepare actionable reports on parts usage trends, inventory health, and supply chain performance
• Participate in an provide support in deployment planning for events and remote operations

Minimum Requirements:

• Master's degree preferably in science, engineering, or business, 1 - 2 years full-time work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and years of experience.
• Proven experience with drone and mission operations, inventory systems, and logistics
planning and coordination
• Experience with parts inventory tracking systems including Asset Panda performing
drone parts tracking
• US Citizenship Only (No Dual Citizenship)

Desired Qualifications:

• Military background
• Experience with Logistics operations for military applications
• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification or having worked around drones
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-disciplinary environment.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance scheduling and spare parts forecasting.
• Experience in full-spectrum logistical support for multiple UAS demonstrations,
including equipment transport, vendor coordination, site setup, and contingency planning.

$83,996 - $89,611
