Purpose of the Position:

The Research Engineer I provides engineering expertise in scientific and engineering research of technologies relevant to testing, analysis, and associated tasks supporting UAH and research customers.

Duties/Responsibilities

Provide engineering expertise to research and technical staff across multiple tasks and provide engineering support and solutions through participation in studies and testing.
Assist and support UAH and customer R&D efforts by performing engineering duties using relevant engineering hardware, software, and tools.
Recommend engineering solutions and participate in issue resolution concerning R&D efforts of programs and applied engineering research and testing in a developmental team or laboratory.
Write technical reports, papers, development, and test plans required by contract terms and under the direction of a Principal Investigator, including preparing portions of test reports and experiments.
Responsible for developing positive, collaborative working relationships with academic, industry and government participants and successfully working as a professional member of a research team.
Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Excellent communication skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Desired Qualifications:

Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering coursework, additional related science, analytics or mathematics coursework is preferred
Published Salary (if available):

$51,304 - $55,000
