Purpose of the Position:

The Research Assistant I will be responsible for working on assigned projects within Project DIAL's embedded research program. The position involves using Open.AI, MaxQDA, Google Suite, YouTube Studio and other platforms to collect, process, curate, archive, analyze, and code relevant data. The individual will also contribute to research and writing for publication in related education and social science journals. This is an on-call position for a temporary project or projects with a maximum weekly time limit set at 30 hours.

Duties/Responsibilities
• Perform research and collect and process relevant data generated by grant personnel
• Analyze and code research data
• Support writing for publication in journals

Minimum Requirements:

• College Coursework preferably in education, humanities, or social science discipline
• College Coursework with 0-1 year of work experience
• Working knowledge, research, and experience writing reports, and articles for publications
• Knowledge of Google Suite
• Familiarity with analyzing natural language

Desired Qualifications:

• B.A. or B.S. in education, humanities, or social science discipline
• Coursework at the graduate level in communication, education, and/or linguistics
• Familiarity with MaxQDA coding software, Otter.AI and other transcription software platforms, YouTube studio and related platforms for processing audio/video materials
• Demonstrable experience in analyzing and coding natural language samples

Published Salary (if available):

$18,200 ($17.50 /hour: $36,400 x .5 FTE)
