The HR Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a strategic partner and consultant, providing expertise and guidance on a wide range of HR matters. As a resource and trusted advisor, the HRBP collaborates with business leaders to develop and implement HR initiatives that support business goals and objectives. The HRBP is the primary HR contact within the assigned service areas and works closely with and brokers the expertise of subject matter experts across the HR team in the provision of HR services. The HR Business Partner, in conjunction with the Executive Director-HR, partners with leadership within assigned service areas to understand business goals and assist in the development of HR strategies to support business outcomes. The HR oversees and implements HR solutions across several functions, including talent acquisition, classification/compensation, talent and performance management, employee engagement, employee relations, and policy interpretation and compliance.


Typical Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, and 3-5 years of relevant experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Knowledge of human resources best practices across several disciplines, preferably in recruitment, compliance management, employee relations, classification/compensation, and talent management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to act as a trusted advisor.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, presentation, time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret and apply applicable complex employment laws, regulations, university policies, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Demonstrated ability to demonstrate innovative, technical, critical, and forward-thinking approaches to problem-solving.
  • Ability to build strong relationships, understand strategic goals and challenges, discuss concerns, brainstorm solutions, navigate complex situations, and influence outcomes.
