The Climate Services Coordinator will play a vital role in advancing the mission of the State Climate Office by synthesizing complex climate data, engaging with diverse stakeholders, and developing tools and resources to enhance climate resilience across the state. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, communication skills, and a passion for public service to bridge the gap between climate science and actionable solutions.Duties/Responsibilities• Perform research, translating data and research findings from the State Climate Office to develop and distribute public-facing climate products, including reports, outlooks, infographics, and one-pagers.• Create weekly blogs, manage website updates, and maintain an active presence on social media platforms.• Simplify complex climate data into accessible formats for diverse audiences. Prepare and generate reports as assigned.• Act as a liaison between climate scientists and the public, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.• Represent the State Climate Office at meetings, workshops, and community events.• Manage and facilitate webinars, workshops, and outreach initiatives to connect with various sectors.• Contribute to Climate Office publications and draft proposals.• Provide editing and writing support for annual reports and other key documents.• Collaborate with team members to integrate products and create interactive dashboards and displays.• Support the development of user-friendly tools for data visualization and decision-making.• Manage the shared State Climate Office calendar.• Provide organizational support to ensure smooth operations.• Participate in special projects.• Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in climate science, environmental science, communication, or a related field with 3 - 3.5 years of experience, or a combination of education and years of experience.• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in technical writing and public outreach.• Proficiency in data visualization tools and social media platforms.• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively in a team environment.• Experience with stakeholder engagement and public presentations is a plus.
