Purpose of the Position:

The Fiber Lab UG Research Support Technician will support a research project exploring enhancements to fiber laser systems. This position includes laboratory work, reading relevant journal articles, reports and texts and maintaining documentation of research efforts and progress as required.

Duties/Responsibilities
• Perform research and provide support for research projects exploring enhancements to fiber laser systems.
• Perform research and experimental measurements including setup, necessary calibration, acquisition of data.
• Ensure close adherence to all laser safety protocols.
• Prepare and generate reports and documentation of experimental procedures, analyses, and results.
• Perform research literature searches, and reading relevant journals, reports and textbooks.
Minimum Requirements:

• College coursework preferably in Science, Physics, or Electrical Engineering.
• 2 years of full-time work experience
• Familiarity with Python programming
Desired Qualifications:

• Extensive familiarity with the operation of a Fabry-Perot interferometer
Published Salary (if available):

$40, 250 - $41,600
