Purpose of the Position:

The Research Associate will provide geospatial and information technology assistance and specialization for the Inter-Agency Implementation and Advanced Concepts Team (IMPACT) in the Earth Systems Science Center. The candidate will be expected to work on data science issues in research and operational frameworks.

Duties/Responsibilities
• Perform comprehensive research
• Develop and implement software across multiple projects.
• Provide guidance and direction to GRAs, student employees, and junior level employees.
• Communicate in written and oral format with UAH and NASA IMPACT team members.
• Present at major conferences.
• Write peer-reviewed publications.
• Write reports as needed.
Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Atmospheric Science, Environmental Science, or a related field
• Minimum of 51-57 months (4.25-4.75 years) of full-time verifiable work experience
• Strong programming experience
• Excellent communication skills
• Working knowledge of satellite and weather data visualization
• Strong background in mathematics and statistics
Desired Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Atmospheric Science, Environmental Science, or a related field
Published Salary (if available):

$66,490-$70,320
