Purpose of the Position:

The Clinical Placement and Outreach Coordinator (CPOC) is responsible for the administration management of student clinical placements for assigned clinical programs that may include the BSN, RN-BSN, MSN, or DNP programs. In this role, the CPOC is responsible for management of clinical databases of approved clinical sites, preceptors, and contracts, and for determining and ensuring clinical placement needs of the UAH College of Nursing programs. The CPOC is responsible for identifying potential new clinical sites to meet the demands of the academic programs and initiating the clinical contract process for new clinical sites. The CPOC is also responsible for communicating information regarding faculty/student clinical placements to clinical sites, faculty and students, and making arrangements for faculty/student orientations, access to electronic medical records, and other arrangements as needed. The CPOC is under the direction of the associate deans and collaborates with program coordinators.

Duties/Responsibilities

• The Clinical Placement and Outreach Coordinator (CPOC) collaborates with nursing faculty and program coordinators to determine clinical placement needs for undergraduate and graduate nursing students.
• Identifies and establishes relationships with healthcare facilities, including hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities, to secure clinical placement opportunities.
• Initiates the clinical contract process for new clinical sites; reviews all clinical contracts for accuracy.
• Coordinates clinical rotations, ensuring students are placed in appropriate settings to meet program requirements and learning objectives.
• Works closely with clinical site coordinators to schedule student placements, confirm preceptor availability, and resolve any logistical issues.
• Provides updates to student orientation materials to program coordinators and associate deans, providing guidance on facility policies, procedures, and expectations.
• Coordinates faculty/student access to electronic medical records and/or other patient care systems at clinical sites
• Maintains accurate records of student placements, preceptor evaluations, and other relevant documentation.
• Collaborates with the nursing education team to evaluate and improve the clinical placement process, implementing best practices, and making recommendations for enhancement.
• Works with information systems to input and manage clinical placement requests, preceptor qualifications, and clinical site contracts or memoranda of understanding.
• Prepares reports routinely and on an as needed basis.
• Develops and implements recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates to the UAH College of Nursing programs, including undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. The emphasis for this position is graduate admissions.
• Identifies and cultivates relationships with high schools, community colleges, universities, healthcare organizations, and other potential sources of nursing students.
• Attends college fairs, career events, and other recruitment activities to promote the UAH College of Nursing programs and engage with prospective students.
• Conducts informational sessions and campus tours for undergraduate and graduate prospective students and their families, providing guidance on program offerings, admissions requirements, and career opportunities.
• Collaborates with academic advisors, faculty, and admissions staff to facilitate the graduate admissions process and support prospective students through the application and enrollment process.
• Uses information systems and other technology tools to track prospective student inquiries, applications, and admissions outcomes.
• Stays current on trends and developments in nursing education and healthcare to effectively communicate the value and relevance of our programs to prospective students.
• Participates in recruitment-related committees, task forces, and professional development activities to enhance recruitment efforts and contribute to the overall success of the nursing programs.
• Attends meetings for placement and recruitment with university and clinical agency partners.
• Uses electronic communication systems for the personalized recruitment of graduate students in collaboration with the graduate advisor.
• Meets regularly with the Administrative Leadership Team to report progress on graduate recruitment.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in health care, business, psychology, communications or a related field
• 1-3 years of full-time verifiable work-related experience is required
• Work experience may not substitute for education requirements
• The candidate must demonstrate communications, customer service, and relationship-building expertise

Desired Qualifications:

• Previous coordinator experience and a background in communication, marketing, or related fields preferred
• Preferred candidates will have effective problem-solving skills, experience developing and managing electronic databases, and be detail-oriented strongly desired

Published Salary (if available):

$40,219 - $44,000
