The University of Alabama in Huntsville has several upcoming opportunities for HVAC Technicians. The HVAC Technician will perform the duties necessary to properly maintain University Energy Management Control Systems, HVAC systems, refrigeration systems, boilers, pumps, cooling towers, and related controls. The individual ensures that office, classroom, and research environments are comfortable and appropriate for the assigned purpose of the facility.

Minimum Required Skills/Experience: 3 years of full-time verifiable directly related work experience in the HVAC trade or 2 years of satisfactory performance as HVAC Technician Helper. Considerable knowledge of HVAC principles & techniques. High degree of independent judgment. Must be physically capable of performing all duties and work off of ladders. Ability to read & interpret blueprints & specifications. Certification in proper refrigerant practices from a program approved by the Environmental Protection Agency. This employee will be a regular driver as defined in the UAH Vehicle Safety Management Program, which includes, but is not limited to, possessing a valid driver’s license and maintaining an acceptable MVR in the judgment of the University’s insurance company

Education Requirements: High school education or equivalent
