Purpose of the Position:

The After School Care Program Lead will work closely with the Executive Director in the management of the daily operations of the Early Learning Center's (ELC) After School Care Program.  The individual is expected to work from 8:30 - 5:30 (with 1 hour for lunch).

Duties / Responsibilities
• The Afterschool Program Lead will work closely with the Director in the management of the Early Learning Center’s afterschool childcare program that cares for School for Children students from dismissal from the school day until timed pickup by families and supervises and maintain students' physical and emotional safety.
• Manage and coordinate the day-to-day workflow and activities of the Afterschool and Before School Programs weekly schedule.
• Work cooperatively with administrators and assistant teachers to support and foster age-appropriate activities during afterschool times.
• Create, monitor, and manage daily scheduling and staffing of the After School Care for the classrooms and monitor planned activities within the After School Care program.
• Work closely with and provide leadership support to the ASC teachers with planning and preparation for after-school care activities, ensuring they are developmentally appropriate, and assist with implementation of activities, if needed.
• Ensure that the ASC program adheres to all safety and sanitation requirements set forth in the minimum standard rules for licensed child care centers and that children are supervised appropriately at all times.
• Communicate and coordinate regularly with ELC administrative personnel regarding the issues such as ASC program enrollment, operating budget, children’s special needs, and adaptations, parent concerns, etc.
• Establish clear expectations and guidelines for appropriate behavior, modeling ideal behaviors for students.
• Maintain professional and positive relationships with school staff, partners, participants, and parents.
• Manage attendance logs, prepare and generate reports, documentation, and record-keeping responsibilities in compliance with ELC and University policies, guidelines, and procedures.
• Ensure appropriate staffing and scheduling for substitute teachers and support staff for both the After School Care primary daytime programs to maintain proper student: adult ratios in each class.
• Supervise, guide, and direct After School Care Assistants, including time-sheet authority, coaching, and monitoring of performance.
• Create, develop and implement necessary processes for managing ASC activities, staff, and security. This may include, but is not limited to: lesson plans, sign-in/out forms, incident reports, sub requests, maintenance requests, employee onboarding, training, etc.
• Responsibility for daily center activities that might be temporary in the event other personnel are not available, including coverage for Teachers, and support staff in the classrooms.
• Communicate and coordinate regularly with the ELC administrative personnel regarding issues such as ASC program enrollment, ASC operating budget, children's special needs, and adaptations, parent concerns, etc.
• Attend and participate in staff meetings, and training as needed.
• Assist and participate with special projects, events, and activities as assigned.
• Non-administrative daily duties may include diaper changing, sterilizing toys and equipment, preparing children's snacks, vacuuming, laundry, etc. Perform routine duties and responsibilities on time, and take initiative in recognizing and doing what needs to be done.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, or a closely related field
• 3-5 years of full-time verifiable work experience in an education and-or office administration setting.
• Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Afterschool program weekly schedule Monday-Friday from 2:30-5:30 p.m., and Before School Program Monday-Friday 7:00 -7:45 a.m.

Desired Qualifications:

• Licensed Educator in one of the following fields: Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, or Elementary Education is preferred
• Training in Infant/Child CPR First Aid is desired
• Experience in an early childhood setting is preferred

$45,000 - $50,000
