Purpose of the Position:

Under the supervision of Professor Shanhu Lee for research in laboratory kinetics experiments of multicomponent aerosol nucleation, the Research Associate will participate in the design of experimental apparatuses. Duties also include the execution of laboratory experiments of nucleation from natural and anthropogenic precursors using high-resolution time-of-flight chemical ionization mass spectrometers (HrTOF-CIMS) and state-of-the-art aerosol instruments and publications/presentation of scientific findings. The initial contract is one year, with a possible extension for additional one or two years, depending on the performance.

Minimum Requirements:

-- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Physics, Atmospheric Sciences, or Engineering
-- 3-6 months of full-time verifiable work experience
-- Must possess knowledge of atmospheric chemistry, chemical and aerosol instrumentation, and numerical computation

Desired Qualifications:

-- Ph.D. in Chemistry, Physics, Atmospheric Sciences, or Engineering is preferred
-- Experience in the operation of chemical ionization mass spectrometer and aerosol instruments or in new particle formation studies is desired

Published Salary (if available):

$40,750 - $44,499
