  • Human Resources Business Partner Expression of Interest

    The HR Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a strategic partner and consultant, providing expertise and guidance on a wide range of HR matters. As a resource and trusted advisor, the HRBP collaborates with business leaders to develop and implement HR initiatives that support business goals and objectives. The HRBP is the primary HR contact within the assigned service areas and works closely with and brokers the expertise of subject matter experts across the HR team in the provision of HR services. The HR Business Partner, in conjunction with the Executive Director-HR, partners with leadership within assigned service areas to understand business goals and assist in the development of HR strategies to support business outcomes. The HR oversees and implements HR solutions across several functions, including talent acquisition, classification/compensation, talent and performance management, employee engagement, employee relations, and policy interpretation and compliance. *The University does not currently have a vacant HR Business Partner role, but is collecting expressions of interest for upcoming roles to meet our organizational growth.     UAH’s Lab for Applied Science (LAS) is dedicated to scientific discovery and societal impact through the application of Earth observations. We provide multi-disciplinary subject matter expertise, technical team management, and logistical coordination services to program offices at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center and across the federal, state, and commercial sectors. Our team employs advanced techniques in data science and novel approaches to capacity building to further the state of the art using remote sensing and geospatial technology.

Principal Research Scientist VIII, S2 Alabama
The Principal Research Scientist will lead and conduct advanced research in RF technologies, including radar systems, millimeter wave (MMW) seekers, and passive RF sensors for missile applications. This role supports both Science and Technology initiatives and fielded weapon systems. Responsibilities include overseeing system design, development, testing, and analysis; managing lab experimentation such as antenna measurements and hardware-in-the-loop testing; and mentoring a diverse team of lab personnel, researchers, faculty, and students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Principal Research Engineer III, S4 Alabama
The Prinicpal Research Engineer III, S4 will perform comprehensive research and provide high-level oversight and senior-level database administration to the AvMC G6.
Research Engineer IV, S4 Alabama
The Research Engineer IV will perform research and provide operational, administrative, and technical support to ensure the smooth functioning of the Charger Advanced Power and Propulsion Laboratory. Reporting to the Controller, the Director of Accounting & Financial Reporting will be responsible for directing the day-to-day operations of the Accounting & Financial Reporting department, management of UAH Foundation accounts, and various accounting, and financial reporting functions. This incumbent will ensure that accurate financial records are maintained and in compliance with applicable GASB and FASB standards. Other responsibilities include preparing financial statements, assisting and coordinating of annual and periodic audits, and providing financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making by UAH leadership. Police Officer Alabama
The Police Officer, with moderate supervision, is responsible for the protection of life, property, and facilities of the University community through the proper administration and enforcement of regulations and laws in conformance with standard law enforcement practices in an institution of higher learning. These duties may involve an element of personal danger. Police Officers regularly conduct criminal investigations, perform searches and seizures, arrest offenders, present criminal cases to prosecutors for prosecution into district and municipal courts, respond to medical and other emergencies, write moving traffic violations and assist other local law enforcement agencies.
Computer Scientist III, S3 Alabama
The Computer Scientist will provide geospatial and information technology assistance and specialization for the Inter-Agency Implementation and Advanced Concepts Team (IMPACT) within the Lab for Applied Science (LAS) under the Earth System Science Center. NASA's IMPACT Project Office monitors trends and progressions across the informatics, data science, and information technology communities in order to inform strategy and develop effective solutions for Earth science data management and dissemination. Additionally, the IMPACT Project Office provides a broad user perspective as to how NASA Earth science data and information are represented and communicated. The IMPACT project fosters cross-community collaborations in order to improve all phases of the Earth science data life cycle, including processes, policies, engineering, and information communication. Travel, both domestic and international, may be required of this position.
Research Assistant I Alabama
The Research Assistant I will be responsible for working on assigned projects within Project DIAL's embedded research program. The position involves using Open.AI, MaxQDA, Google Suite, YouTube Studio and other platforms to collect, process, curate, archive, analyze, and code relevant data. The individual will also contribute to research and writing for publication in related education and social science journals. This is an on-call position for a temporary project or projects with a maximum weekly time limit set at 30 hours.
