Research Engineer I, S1 Alabama
The Research Engineer will provide objectives through the development, management, and maintenance of technical work products and documentation, while ensuring high-quality delivery and effective communication with internal and external customers. The role applies engineering and administrative support including 3D model updates, drawing verification, and related technical tasks. It also contributes to continuous improvement by researching and implementing new tools and methods to enhance customer processes, while mentoring and onboarding new team members to ensure consistency, efficiency, and adherence to established standards.

The Residence Director (RD) is responsible for the programming and administrative management of a co-educational residential community ranging in size from 229 to 416 residents. This position has on-call responsibilities and answers to emergency situations.
Construction Project Manager II Alabama
The Construction Project Manager II is a key member of the UAH Facilities & Operations (F&O) department. F&O is responsible for the planning, design, construction, renovation, maintenance, and repair of each of the University’s 90+ buildings and 500 acres. Under the general supervision of the Director of Planning, Design & Construction (Director), the employee manages various capital planning, construction, and renovation projects of a moderate to complex nature to ensure alignment with University and departmental goals. This role focuses on facilitating projects from concept through implementation in collaboration with the Chief Facilities Officer (CFO), the Director, and project stakeholders. Key responsibilities include: • Project Management: Manage projects from original concept through final implementation, coordinating scope, schedules, and budgets for moderate to complex construction and renovation work. • Compliance: Ensure projects meet all contract requirements, UAH standards, and applicable building and safety codes. • Coordination: Manage and coordinate the performance of design professionals, consultants, and vendors. • Reporting: Track project progress, budget status, and schedules, providing reports and updates to leadership and stakeholders. Note: Employment continuation is contingent upon the availability of future construction program management fee revenue funding.
Principal Research Scientist I, Step 4 Alabama
The Principal Research Scientist I, Step 4, will conduct advanced research and development in multilayer optical coatings, instrument hardware, and computational modeling to enable advancements in X-ray optic technology for astrophysical and high-energy applications. The scientist will collaborate closely with NASA Marshall Space Flight Center’s (MSFC) X-ray Astronomy Group under existing cooperative agreements to design, fabricate, and test reflective optical elements and to develop data-driven software tools that enhance instrument performance and coating precision.

The Computer Scientist III, Step 4, will support the Office of Data Science and Informatics (ODSI) within the Earth Systems Science Center at UAH. This role focuses on advancing data science, informatics, and IT capabilities to support NASA Earth science data management, access, and dissemination. This role is suited for candidates with a strong technical foundation and an interest in applying data science and informatics to large-scale Earth science challenges. ODSI evaluates trends across data science and informatics communities to inform strategic direction and develop effective, scalable solutions. The office also provides a user-centered perspective on how Earth science data are represented, communicated, and utilized. The position contributes to cross-disciplinary collaboration aimed at improving all phases of the Earth science data lifecycle, including policy, engineering, workflows, and information delivery.

The Computer Scientist III, Step 4, will provide geospatial and information technology assistance and specialization support to the Office of Data Science and Informatics (ODSI) Project Office at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) within the Lab for Applied Science (LAS) under the Earth System Science Center (ESSC) at The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH). NASA's Office of Data Science and Informatics (ODSI) Project Office monitors trends and progressions across the informatics, data science, and information technology communities in order to inform strategy and develop effective solutions for Earth science data management and dissemination. Additionally, the ODSI Project Office provides a broad user perspective as to how NASA Earth science data and information are represented and communicated. The ODSI project fosters cross-community collaborations in order to improve all phases of the Earth science data life cycle, including processes, policies, engineering, and information communication.
