Research Associate II (step 2-3) Huntsville, AL
A Research Associate position is available immediately in the area of cartilage tissue engineering with pluripotent cells with the Cell and Tissue Bioengineering Laboratory (CBTL) at the University of Alabama-Huntsville (UAH). The research will be conducted under the direct supervision of Dr. Anu Subramanian and is funded by the National Institutes of Health aiming to develop assistive technologies with low-intensity-ultrasound. The CBTL laboratory is located in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering at UAH. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the isolation of induced pluripotent stem cells from somatic cells, mesenchymal stem cells from bone marrow aspirates, develop differentiation protocols, characterization of cell types, and develop tissue analogs using low-intensity-ultrasound. The NIH-R01 funded project also involves using RNASEQTM to monitor chondrogenesis of mesenchymal stem cells under a variety of conditions. The research associate will also be expected to manage the laboratory operations/purchasing and work with graduate students. The Research Associate is also expected to assist with grant management, grant accounting oversight, and also grant reporting. This position is eligible to receive benefits as per UAH policy.

Senior PTAC Counselor Huntsville, AL
The Senior PTAC Counselor will assist the SBDC Director in the day to day management of the Procurement Technical Assistance Center. The Counselor will working with multiple partners, stakeholders, and community leaders, and offer technical assistance to Alabama’s businesses that contract with federal, state, or local governments in a seven county North Alabama region. This role requires attention to detail, excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, grant and proposal development, reporting, leadership, and federal funding partner compliance within a fairly structured environment. The counselor will also provide administrative, budgetary, and operational support to the Director. Other responsibilities include assuming a lead role in the areas of advising, training, and networking services in addition to developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships, campus partners, government agencies, large prime contractors, and resources including leading, and providing direction and guidance of one procurement specialist.
PTAC Counselor Huntsville, AL
The PTAC Counselor counsels and assists small business clients in a seven county North Alabama Region through appointment-based confidential one-on-one advising research and training on how to contract at all levels of Government Agencies (local, city, state and federal) to sell products and services. The primary responsibilities of the PTAC Specialist is to act as an instructor, coach or mentor, and maintain and develop excellent communication between the PTAC program staff and its clients, potential clients and the communities. The program ensures businesses understand how to find, bid win, and perform on government contracts and sub contracts, and comply with post-award terms and conditions. The PTAC Specialist provides a variety of services through phone contact, e-mail, web-conferencing, presentations, the PTAC website, and social media. The incumbent also serves as the bridge between business and government contracting collaboration providing outreach to the community through regular engagement with campus partners, local government entities, Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development Councils, service clubs, and community organizations.
Senior Business Advisor Huntsville, AL
The Senior Business Advisor will serve as an on-call SBDC Advisor to advise clients on new business start; legal entities, business license requirements, HR, Payroll, QuickBooks, Marketing, Social Media, etc. The successful candidate will also participate in marketing and expanding current SBDC offerings and provide training classes. The incumbent will serve as an advocate of UAH SBDC/PTAC for the entrepreneurial ecosystem and business community in support of economic development.
