Purpose of the Position:

The Teacher will provide instruction to all children through the planning and implementation of intentional and purposeful interactions. Children should be engaged in developmentally appropriate activities in a child-centered inclusive classroom and supervise assistants, students, interns, and volunteers assigned to the class.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, Elementary Education, Special Education, Collaborative Education, or a related field
• 1 year of full-time verifiable experience working with young children in a classroom setting
• Valid Alabama Teaching Certificate in one of the above fields

Desired Qualifications:

• Master degree in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, Elementary Education, Special Education, Collaborative Education, or a related field is preferred
• Coursework in the assessment of young children, developmentally appropriate practices with young children, Behavior management, and data collection is desired
• Experience teaching Strategies Gold is preferred
• Knowledge of Conscious Discipline is desired
• Experience with NAEYC standards is preferred
• Infant/Child CPR certification is desired
• Valid TB Skin Test is preferred

Published Salary (if available):

$36,000 - $40,000
