Research Scientist II, S2 Alabama
We are seeking a motivated Research Scientist to join our team and lead cutting-edge environmental modeling efforts. The incumbent will manage large-scale biophysical models, including hydrological and crop models to insure ensure robust calibration, validation, and insightful analysis to support decision-making. Other responsibilities include to design and maintain efficient programming workflows for data processing, model integration, guarantee accuracy, reproducibility, and clear documentation. This role will leverage remote sensing and GIS, conduct spatial and temporal analyses of complex environmental datasets, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to drive impactful research. The position also offers opportunities to present findings through reports, presentations, and visualizations, as well as to contribute to scientific publications and technical reports that advance the field.
Research Associate III, S2 Alabama
The Research Associate III, Step 2 will undertake research in the field of solar wind modeling in the context of solar and space physics. This includes working on the development and applications of the heliophysics foundation model (HelioFM) which is a multi-purpose, large-scale AI foundation model tailored specifically for heliophysics—the study of the Sun and its influence across the solar system. This model is trained using extensive observational data from NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO), including imagery from multiple instruments and channels. The incumbent will need to have a clear understanding of this model and its application and be able to contribute to the developments, testing and running simulations with this model
Asst Dir, Early Learning Center Operations Alabama
The Assistant Director Early Learning Center Operations will work closely with and serve as the operational lead for the Rise classrooms, providing training and oversight on matters of licensing, orientation, and daily operations in accordance with ELC and university policies, procedures and guidelines, Alabama state licensing requirements, and NAEYC accreditation standards. The Manager of Procurement Card & Travel Services provides leadership, oversight, and strategic management for the Procurement Card (P-Card) and Travel Services programs. This position ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and university policies, procedures, and best practices while promoting efficiency, accountability, and transparency in procurement and travel expenditures. The Manager serves as the subject matter expert on procurement card administration, travel compliance, and audit standards, while supervising staff and providing training to campus departments.
