Research Associate II, S1 Alabama
The Research Associate will support the IMPACT Project Office at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC). NASA's IMPACT Project Office monitors trends and progressions across the informatics, data science, and information technology communities to inform strategy and develop effective solutions for Earth science data management and dissemination. The IMPACT Project Office also provides a broad user perspective on how NASA Earth science data and information are represented and communicated. The IMPACT project fosters cross-community collaborations to improve all Earth science data life cycle phases, including processes, policies, engineering, and information communication.
Public Safety Telecommunicator Alabama
The Public Safety Telecommunicator is employed in The University of Alabama in Huntsville Police Department Emergency Communications and Operations Center as both a 911 Call Taker and Public Safety Dispatcher. Under general supervision, the Public Safety Telecommunicator independently performs specialized and essential specialized work in receiving and dispatching accurate information to appropriate emergency responders during, at times, highly stressful and intense situations. Work involves responsibility for the operation of specialized radio utilizing multiple channels and frequencies in a 911 center. The incumbent requires fast, efficient, and accurate receiving, dispatching, and processing of calls and messages from and to appropriate vehicles and personnel. Employees work with considerable independence, subject to instructions or orders to meet special operating circumstances or emergencies. The incumbent will effectively and efficiently communicate between campus law enforcement headquarters, campus police officers in the field, parking officers, student assistants, other university departments and personnel, and outside agencies. These interactions require tact, discretion, and confidentiality. Work is performed in a communications center without windows. Incumbent often works fast-paced in a harried work atmosphere, sometimes confronted by disturbing or stressful call situations. Work is essentially sedentary with occasional walking, bending, lifting of objects up to pounds, or minimal physical activities. Work requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time, operate multiple personal computers and transmitters/receivers, and perceive and or discriminate colors, and sounds from multiple directions, depth, and texture. Work requires continuous repetitive arm/hand movement.

The Research Associate informatics specialist will work to generate, improve, care for and document science data in order to enable the use of NASA’s science data. The informatics specialist works with scientists, data stewards and policymakers to understand use cases and to develop consensus around key scientific data management processes.

Research Assistant I, S2 Alabama
The Research Assistant I, step 2 is a new position that will be responsible for working on assigned projects and building a gene-disease database in the PTSD space. The position involves using AI and ML tools Neo4j and Open Target Platforms to explore and integrate transcriptome and proteome data. The researcher will have to write reports and contribute to writing scientific articles for publication. This is an on-call position for a temporary project or projects for approximately 4 months.

The Research Associate V, S1-4 will be involved in all aspects of 3D Printing of CAD Models. The person will be required to print, post-process, and finish 3D printed models and operate 3D resin and filament printers.
