Purpose of the Position:

The Academic Advisor is the officer most specifically charged with monitoring student retention and success. Academic Advisors must ensure that all students have every opportunity to move effectively and efficiently through their programs. Working with the latest software tools (e.g., Student Success Collaborative dashboard and data, Degree Works, Banner), Academic Advisors alert struggling students about programs that may be more appropriate to their skills and preferences.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Audit degrees for the College
• Assist with all aspects of student recruiting.
• Ensure that students take advantage of all career path assistance available to them on campus. The primary result expected from properly carrying out these duties is student retention and success.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and years of experience
• 0-2 years of full-time verifiable academic advising or related work experience
• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
• The ability to navigate a diverse environment is required

Desired Qualifications:

• Academic Advising experience is preferred
• Experience in a university setting is desired
• Knowledge of UAH policies and processes is preferred
• Written and oral knowledge of CAHS degree programs is desired

Published Salary (if available):

$41,000 - $42,500
