Purpose of the Position:

Postdoctoral Research Assistant will carry out research, perform complex data analysis of Astrophysical data and write and publish papers at the highest level.

Duties / Responsibilities
• Working on research projects with the data from Chandra and XMM X-ray telescopes, as well as the Hubble Space Telescope
• Assisting Dr. Sun to mentor graduate and undergraduate students
• Assisting research grant proposals led by Dr. Sun to NASA and NSF
Minimum Requirements:

• Ph.D.
• 15-18 months of full-time verifiable work experience.
• Experience performing research in X-Ray Astrophysics using data from the Chandra X-Ray observatory and the XMM-Newtown observatory.
• Excellent communication skills.
Desired Qualifications:

• Experience assisting and mentoring Ph.D. students and undergraduate research students is preferred.
• Experience writing research grants to NASA and NSF to continue to fund research is desired.
Published Salary (if available):

$46,401 - $48,000
