Purpose of the Position:

The Research Scientist II will focus on the study of high-energy solar phenomena driving space weather dynamics using Hinode data. The function of the position is to support the mission by analyzing Hinode data, in combination with complementary measurements from Marshall sounding rockets and external observatories, to study sources of energy release and transport.

Minimum Requirements:

-- Masters degree in Physics, Astrophysics, or a related field
-- 15 - 18 months of full-time verifiable work experience
-- Proficiency in SSWIDL and/or SunPy
-- Some research experience is required

Desired Qualifications:

-- Ph.D. in Physics, Astrophysics, or a related field is preferred
-- 2 years of research experience with proficiency in SSWIDL and/or SunPy is desired
-- Python and C/C++ Publications in scientific literature is preferred

Published Salary (if available):

$72,766 - $73,500
