Supervisor, Electrical Systems Huntsville, AL
The Supervisor for Electrical Systems is a key member of the UAH Facilities & Operations department, which is responsible for the planning, design, construction, renovation, maintenance, and repair of each of the University’s 90+ buildings and 500 acres. Under the general direction of the Assistant Director of Facilities Maintenance, the employee provides oversight for the preventive maintenance, repair, and minor renovations of all electrical, lighting automation, emergency power, switchgear, generators, life safety, etc. on UAH properties. He/she supervises and coordinates the activities of a multi-craft technical workforce; organizes workflow; arranges logistical support for facility repair projects; and inspects work for quality. He/she shall have some budgetary responsibility and record-keeping duties. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: 1. Employee coaching & supervision: recruit, train, discipline, and evaluate performance; plan, organize, & direct unit’s work activities; promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. 2. Record-keeping & Procedures: use a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to prepare work schedules for emergency, reactive, proactive, preventive maintenance, and service work orders; verify that employees accurately charge time and materials to proper work orders; ensure entry of all existing and new related equipment into CMMS; ensure upkeep and records of all annual inspections, deficiencies, and repairs for life safety and elevators; review building automation system and sub-meters regularly to identify anomalies and initiate corrective action. 3. Manage and supervise contracted services and design professionals: review electrical drawings, bids, and specifications to ensure code compliance and recommend needed changes; perform pre-bid meetings with potential contractors; work with contractors to plan and schedule projects and inspect work in progress.

The Financial Aid Counselor has primary responsibility for strategic support of recruitment and retention efforts related to enrollment and revenue goals of the university. S/he works directly with students, parents, guardians, and community-based organizations that are involved in the processes of helping students choose to enroll and persist at the university. The Financial Aid Counselor is responsible for: the effective and compliant management of one or more significant financial aid programs, including understanding federal, state, and institutional regulations and policies associated with each respective program; supporting and deploying policy and procedure development that ensures effective and compliant delivery of funds; articulating those policies and procedures to both internal and external constituents; meeting reporting requirements of the university and governing bodies that are associated with each program. This role is also responsible for understanding and utilizing technical systems to support their work with students and the management of each program for which they are responsible, including but not limited to Banner, Argos, Xtender, and program-specific reporting applications. S/he works as a member of the Financial Aid team to determine annual financial aid awarding processes and procedures and to create proactive outreach initiatives regarding financial file completion, financial literacy, and financial planning to a variety of internal and external constituents. S/he creates and supports program-specific communication strategies. This person directly influences enrollment yield objectives and revenue at the university and has significant fiscal responsibility given the program(s) managed.
